During the last couple of years I've been travelling a bit: Italy (Rome, Florence, Verona and Milano), Portugal (Lisbon and Porto) and Spain (Sevilla, Madrid, Segovia, Toledo). Everytime I'd tried to be in a hostel, every travel I've been in pubs... From these experiences I collected a bunch of interesting impressions, but the most remarkable one is that the Staff is the very soul of a nice hostel, a nice pub, and the best reason to went back. It is not an easy job, it is very very hard indeed.
I will not mention the details, but sharing conversations with some of the nicest guys I ever met, I really came to admire them: by not-so-many-euros they work incredibly hard and they still have the presence of mood to share with you a night in the disco (and probably they would work next day), a "chupito", some words in the middle of a busy night and always a smile and interest in where you are, why are you in the hostel, etc...
To the improbable readers of this blog, in your next visit to a Hostel or Pub please transmit this feeling to the staff. To the guys from hostels and pubs that could arrive to read this, my admiration...and yes: the names in the photos correspond to places were everybody should go, and no, I am not having commision for saying it (hehehe). I could recomend more and put more photos (but i do not have authorization hehehehe)... A better idea is to check at www.hostelworld.com for your next travel, and follow the hostel staff to the best pubs and bars in the city.
